About Heaven…

Heaven is a place of perfect happiness, a Christian’s home after death. Heaven is indescribable in human words. Christians will be with God there and there will be no more tears, death, sorrow, or pain there!

Let’s read some scriptural references to Heaven:

Rev. 21:4

“4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”.”

As you can see, Revelations clearly states that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying, or even pain there. It states that they are not just temporarily removed they are gone forever. What a place that will be!

Not only will heaven bring about the removal of many things it will bring about new experiences, we will also have new bodies there.
Let’s look at:

1 Cor. 15:35-57

Page 2. About Heaven…

The Resurrection Body

“35 but someone may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?” 36 What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first. 37 And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare seed of wheat or whatever you are planting. 38 Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed. 39 Similarly there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.
40 There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is
Different from the glory of the earthly bodies. 41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
42 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. 43 Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.
45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. 46 What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. 47 Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 48 Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. 49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.
50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
55  O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?*”
56 for sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Cor. 5:1-10

New Bodies

”1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3 for we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. 4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.
6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home

Page 3. About Heaven…

with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.”

Both scriptural references explain to us that we are going to have new bodies in heaven. They tell us just as there are earthly bodies there are spiritual bodies and all Christians will be raised in the new spiritual bodies. Verse 50 – 53 states that our earthly or Physical bodies that we are in now will not enter the kingdom of heaven that God will give us new spiritual bodies- that we will be transformed, as Christ was, into new heavenly bodies that
Are perfect so we can enter heaven. The new bodies that we will receive are immortal and they will never die as our earthly bodies do.

That is the victory over death, we do not actually die at “death” only our earthly flesh does…Our mind is placed into a spiritual body, a new one, and we will go with God in our new bodies and live in heaven.

Now we have an idea of how everything mental and physically will be made new in heaven. There is another important point to heaven; you cannot judge who’s going to be there and who isn’t!

Yes as humans we make the mistake all the time of judging whether someone is a real Christian or not, that is wrong for us to do. The bible tells us over and over not to judge others because only God knows who is going to let in his house. Let’s look at some scriptural references pertaining to those who will be there when we get there:

Reference 1.

Mark 10:31

31 but many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.”

Page 4. About Heaven…

Imagine all the people who you have judged wrongly waiting for you when you enter Heaven…Be careful who you say wont get there!

Reference 2.

Mark 12:25

25 “For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”

The bible says that the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. That doesn’t mean that we won’t recognize people it means that there will no longer be a need for it…

Reference 3.

Matthew 13:47

47 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like fishing net that was thrown into the water and caught fish of every kind. 48 When the net was full, they dragged it up onto the shore, sat down, and sorted the good fish into crates, but threw the bad ones away. 49 That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the righteous, 50 throwing the wicked into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Here it is referenced that those who enter heaven are those who are not “wicked”, so you can be assured there will be NONE of the earthly problems there, such as, crime….

Here are the qualifications to enter heaven:

The Beatitudes

3  “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,*
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
4  God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Page 5. About Heaven

5  God blesses those who are humble,
for they will inherit the whole earth.
6  God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,*
for they will be satisfied.
7  God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8  God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
9  God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
10  God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you* and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

Make sure that you pay attention to the details of “The Beatitudes”.
We can draw morals from each verse!

Out of all the things that there are to know about heaven the most important thing to know is that the doors of heaven are open to those who accept Jesus Christ:

1 Cor. 1:2

2” I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.”

If you have called upon the name of the Lord then you have a home that is not here on earth, it is way better- nothing can compare. If you have not called upon the name of the Lord then do not waste any time ask someone about Jesus and receive the knowledge that is free and will give you eternal life, it is offered to all, unfortunately not all will accept…
