Jesus The Redeemer

Leviticus 1:1-4 tells us the sacrificial way that bulls were offered up in place of the person for sins committed. The priest laid hands on the bull, transferring the sins from the person to the bull. In order for the priests to be able to offer up this sacrifice their were rules in accepting which offering for what sin, and what kind of offering should be offered. There was a system and way God wanted everything done, IF it was not done that way then God did NOT except the sacrifice for the persons sins.

TODAY

Jesus came to offer up his body as sacrifice for our sins. (Rom 12:1)
John his baptizer acted as a priest from the Aaron lineage (Matt 11:11-14) to fulfill all righteousness by transferring our sins to Christ so he could take them upon the cross for us. Christ was our sacrificial lamb, our redeemer.

Let us compare old offerings to Christ offering himself to God:
1. The offering for sins had to be a male without blemish (Lev 1:3) * Jesus was without blemish
2. His own voluntary will ( John 3:16) * God sent Christ and he submitted voluntary for us!
3. When hands were laid on a offering, it was acceptable for atonement. * God said "This is my son with whom I am well please"
4. "He shall kill the bullock before the Lord" * Jesus died before the whole world and at Gods feet public ally
5. Must be blood * Jesus shed his blood for us!

(Remember when the spirit ascended like a dove, God gave his approval that Christ was an acceptable offering.)

When you have heard and obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ the spirit of God also ascends upon you, Christ has opened the doors of heaven to us so that we can have that direct relationship with God ourselves. Anyone with the seal of the Holy Spirit is approved by God, Thank you Jesus!!!
There are many things, people, places, and words in the Old Testament that were symbolic of things to come, like the examples I have just used of the Old way of offering a sacrifice for sin- that is symbolic of Jesus now and what he has done for us. When you are reading through the Old Testament look for the symbolism, and what it means in the New Testament. It is very rewarding to read scripture and unfold the hidden meaning within the texts. There is actually a specific study of it you can get into to do it called Typology.

HERETICS

A heretic is one who still has sin in his heart yet professes to know Christ. Only those who have heard and obeyed the gospel have washed away the sinful ways of their heart! Jesus and what he did as the sacrificial lamb is the gospel and it fulfills all righteousness!
HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF TYPOLOGY:
1. Abraham's covenant with God meant that he literally had to physically circumcise his sons for them to be Holy to God.
2. Now we have Jesus through his baptism, death , burial, and resurrection. This is what is known as "spiritual circumcision".
* We are saved now not by a fleshly ritual or deed but by hearing the words of God (through scriptures) and believing in Jesus and what he did, we await his return. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light- NO MAN can get to the father except it be through the son. Anyone who tells you anything outside of that is a heretic and is in danger of hell's fire!!!

Holy Spirit

God's Holy Spirit has sealed and dwells in all Christians. He helps them, communicates God's will to them, convicts them of sin, convinces them that God's ways are right, and comforts them when they are sad. ( John 15:26, 16:7-8, 13-15) * HE is also called the Holy Ghost, The Comforter, The Counselor, The Helper.
God sent the Holy Spirit to guide us after Jesus left the earth ( John 14:16-17) The Holy Spirit gives gifts and Godly characteristics called fruits of the spirit to each of us Christians to be used to edify the church. (Rom 12: 4-13, 1 Cor. 12-13, Gal 5:22-23)
* God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, God the Son= are a complete expression of himself...

Holy- Person, place, or thing means "set apart". All Holiness originates with God himself. All Christians are called to live a Holy life. God wants you to live Holy. (Lev 21:8, Acts 3:12, Thess 3:13-4:1, 1Peter 2:9). Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit mean the same thing.

God uses a cleansing process called "sanctification" to cleans us and make us in the likeness of Jesus (1 Cor 1:30) It effects our character and our conduct ( Col 3:1-17) It is part of God's will and plan in our christian lives. ( 1 Thess 4:3, 2 Thess 2:13) Sanctify means the same as holy "set apart". All these words are interchangeable so do not be confused when you hear people use different words to explain the same thing. Sanctification begins with Salvation and is a continual process, It will continue until Jesus returns or our death. (1 Thess 5;23, Eph 5:26)

Christians

Also known as Saints, are set apart, holy , sanctified, etc. All Christians are saved and saints in the biblical sense of the word. (Eph 1:12-14, 1 Peter 2:5,9)
* We are not perfect people we have just accepted Christ ( Phil 1:1, 4:21) Salvation is safety and deliverance from hell. We have eternal life now through Christ and his sacrifice. Salvation comes through God's grace only , it is a gift! When we accept Christ, God accepts us....
* That is what is known as "regeneration, or "Being born again". We are born again in Christ, our old flesh and ways dies - Inside we are a new spiritual creature. That is what happens when you become a Christian.

* Your first birth you were born into sin , made fleshly....Spiritually dead. (Eph 2; 1-10)
through Christ we are regenerated, born to spirit- made Holy- That is what the study of divinity is all about....
